1. INT. HOSPITAL - DAY 61

MUSIC CUE

INTERIOR HOSPITAL ROOM AMBIENCE

WOMAN

Our fortress had paper walls and glass ceilings. We thought we were facing a mysterious evil deep inside the mirror. What we didn’t know at that time was that the evil was inside our own camp.

ANNOUNCER

Welcome to 13 Reflections. Reflection 10: The Towers

1. INT. ASHLEY'S HOUSE - DAY 62

MUSIC CUE ASHLEY’S HOUSE

NARRATOR

Ray rests on the sofa playing solitaire on his laptop. His head is bandaged. His forehead is bruised on one side.

Ashley and Polly enter the room with balloons attached to a teddy bear.

POLLY

Hi Ray.

RAY

Hi Polly-wog. Those for me?

ASHLEY

The balloons are for you. I think Polly has other plans for the bear.

RAY

That’s fine by me.

ASHLEY

How are you feeling?

RAY

Like a golf ball after eighteen holes. What happened?

ASHLEY

Some kid ambushed us. He conked you on the noggin then tried to take Polly.

NARRATOR

Polly unties the teddy bear from the balloons. She puppets the stuffed bear making it dance and hop side to side.

RAY

You okay?

ASHLEY

Yes, we’re fine. Now.

RAY

What happened to the kid?

ASHLEY

The Sheriff took him...

RAY

Good.

ASHLEY

To the morgue.

RAY

What? How?

ASHLEY

The thing. In the mirror.

RAY

One of those demon wraiths things?

ASHLEY

No. Something else. Something huge. I think it was the thing I saw.

RAY

In the mirror?

ASHLEY

Before the kid died he babbled on about maintaining balance. That for one of them to live out here, someone needs to die in there.

RAY

Why would you believe him? Maybe he’s wrong.

ASHLEY

What if he’s not?

LEATHERY WINGS FLAP SOFT DEMON CHITTER

ASHLEY (CONT'D)

That creature in the mirror yanked his heart out. I saw it. What if it comes for Polly?

RAY

Then we’ll stop it.

NARRATOR

Polly plays with the teddy bear onthe living room floor at the foot of Ray’s bed. Ashley’s breath begins to frost. Ice crystals climb the corners of the windows. The teddy bear is yanked from Polly’s grasp by an invisible hand. The bear walks by itself, then its head is ripped from its furry body.

POLLY SCREAMS.

RAY

What in the hell?

ASHLEY

They’re here.

NARRATOR

Reflected in the laptop screen three demon wraiths tear apart the teddy bear. Ashley yanks Polly away from the frenzy.

RAY

Get her out of here. Go!

LEATHERY WINGS FLAP DEMON CHITTER DEMON SCREECH

NARRATOR

Ashley rushes out the door with Polly in tow.

Two demon wraiths SCREECH and fly after them. One demon wraith remains.

Its snake eyes look Ray over. The demon wraith crawls across the sofa towards Ray.

Ray kicks his feet.

The demon wraith sinks its claws into his legs.

RAY SCREAMS

NARRATOR (CONT'D)

Ray watches the demon wraith’s movements reflected in the laptop screen.

Ray hammers his fist against the laptop screen hoping to crack it. The demon wraith leaps onto Ray’s chest and rips out his heart.

CUT TO:

1. INT. HI LOY ANTIQUES - DAY 63

MUSIC CUE DARK MAGIC

NARRATOR

Agent Lee stands at the front desk impatiently. He bangs on the bell on the counter.

Waipoh peeks around a chest of drawers at Agent Lee. Her face screws up as if smelling something foul.

Reflected in a crystal vase, Waipoh can see two demon wraiths at Agent Lee’s feet.

One of the demon wraiths notices Waipoh.

AGENT LEE

Is anyone here?

WAIPOH

Can I help you?

AGENT LEE

I’m here for my cabinet. It’s Chinese red lacquer and has a mirror inside?

WAIPOH

Oh that one. You still owe us for the restoration.

AGENT LEE

Put it on my tab.

WAIPOH

My Granddaughter tried to get ahold of you many times.

AGENT LEE

I’ve been very busy can you just take me to it.

WAIPOH

My Granddaughter went missing.

AGENT LEE

That’s a shame.

WAIPOH

Her name was Mina. This morning the Sheriff called to tell me she has died.

AGENT LEE

I’m so sorry for you. Now, my cabinet?

WAIPOH

Your cabinet has gone missing.

AGENT LEE

What? How can that be?

WAIPOH

I’m so sorry for you.

AGENT LEE

You are trying my patience. Where is it?

WAIPOH

I sold it.

AGENT LEE

To whom?

WAIPOH FLIPS THROUGH SALE RECEIPTS

WAIPOH

I don’t recall oh, wait here it is.

A CRASH of glass.

NARRATOR

Waipoh stands in the middle of broken glass. She holds a crystal vase in her bent fingers.

WAIPOH

Be gone. Demon Master.

NARRATOR

Agent Lee waves his hand at the demon wraiths. They move away.

WAIPOH

I know what you are.

AGENT LEE

Then you also know you are no threat.

NARRATOR

Agent Lee rips the sales receipt from the desk. He marches out of the store.

1. INT. TRUCK - DAY Music cue Dark magic

NARRATOR

Ashley and Polly run to the truck. Polly climbs into the passenger seat.

Ashley reaches into the bed and pulls out a hammer. She smashes the driver’s side view mirror.

She jumps behind the wheel and tosses the hammer onto the floor.

Ashley ruminates to herself out loud.

ASHLEY

How are those things still after us? How can there be so many?

NARRATOR

Ashley closes in on a chrome milk tanker truck. She pulls into the left lane.

The passenger side mirror dangles as they pull alongside of the milk tanker.

The mirror and chrome tanker create endless reflections.

Polly’s eyes go wide as a demon wraith begins to crawl towards her through the tunnel of endless reflections.

Ice crystals form on her window. Polly’s breath begins to frost.

POLLY

Mommy.

ASHLEY

We don’t have any mirrors left. Wait.

NARRATOR

The demon wraith reaches out for Polly. Its claws cut through the window.

Ashley stomps on the brakes.

The reflections slide backwards along the chrome tanker truck and then stop.

The demon wraith’s arm is severed at the elbow and flies off. It hits the pavement and explodes into black dust.

ASHLEY

The cabinet.

CUT TO:

1. EXT. CONSTRUCTION SITE - DAY 65

MUSIC CUE DARK MAGIC

THE TRUCK SKIDS TO A STOP

NARRATOR

Ashley runs towards Einhorn Headquarters, the recently completed twin towers of mirrored glass. Polly follows Ashley to the entrance and stops.

POLLY

Mommy look.

NARRATOR

Reflected in the mirrored windows five demon wraiths scramble towards them. They move like large crabs, lurching quickly one way then the next. Their needle sharp teeth gnashing as they open and close their jaws.

ASHLEY

Shit. Shit. Shit. Polly, get behind me.

NARRATOR

Ashley looks around the construction site. She locates a four foot length of steel pipe.

A demon wraith SCUTTLES closer.

NARRATOR (CONT'D)

Ashley moves sideways until the demon wraith is reflected in the middle of a window. She swings the pipe and smashes the window.

Cracks spread across the demon wraith’s reflection.

The demon wraith SCREECHES. PUFF BLACK DUST

NARRATOR (CONT'D)

Four demon wraiths remain.

Ashley moves sideways to a fresh window but the other demon wraiths are wise to her now. The next demon wraith lurches to the left.

Ashley swings. The demon wraith lurches to the right. The window cracks but the demon wraith’s reflection is no long in view.

(MORE)

NARRATOR (CONT'D)

Another demon wraith lurches forward.

Ashley swings at the window but the demon wraiths’s image is no longer there.

ASHLEY

I can’t keep up.

POLLY

Mom. What about the welding cart? Those tanks?

ASHLEY

Good girl.

NARRATOR

Ashley pushes Polly towards the entrance. Polly runs for the front steps. The demon wraiths change direction and move towards Polly. Ashley runs the other way towards the welding cart. She grabs the tanks and pulls them towards the front of the building.

She spins open the GAS knobs.

Gas HISSES out.

NARRATOR (CONT'D)

Ashley glances at the windows. Three demon wraiths surround Polly. Ashley looks for the fourth demon wraith.

It leaps on her back and digs its claws into her rib cage.

Ashley stumbles forward to a window. She grabs the pipe and swings it.

The demon wraith leaps off of Ashley just as the pipe cracks the window. The cracks spread across the window but miss the demon wraiths’s reflection.

It scrambles for a new attack. Ashley yanks her zippo lighter out of her pocket. She flicks it on then tosses it at the tanks.

Ashley leaps and covers Polly with her body.

The gas ignites.

A huge blue ball EXPLODES.

The windows bulge and break.

NARRATOR (CONT'D)

Cracks spider web out across the entire building crossing over the four demon wraiths’ reflections. One by one the demon wraiths explode into black dust.

The dust settles. Ashley lifts up from under a pile of broken windows.

ASHLEY

Polly? You okay?

POLLY

Yeah. Are they gone?
